Trophy Wives & Vampires

I am convinced that Kristin Billerbeck is "The Queen" of Chic Lit. The woman is amazing! While reading her books I burst into laughter, cry my eyes out, and gasp from surprising twists. Brad of course thinks it's completely rediculous, but the feeling is mutual when it comes to his love for watching football games from 1989 and so on...This weekend has been freezing cold so I snuggled down, and had one on one time with some juicy Chic Lit. If you haven't read these books, and romantic comedies are your cup of tea......GO GET THEM TODAY. You won't regret it I promise. Now that i'm finished with K.B.'s latest novel i'll move on to something else, and try to wait patiently for a new book. My next book on the list is "Twilight". The movie was released last Friday. I have been turning off radio reviews, dodging blogs, and ignoring E! (which is a miracle in itself) just so the good stuff isn't revealed before I get to read it. This week will be extremely busy i'm sure so if I don't make it back before Thursday.....HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

A Good Friend & Great Wontons

Crab Stuffed Wontons!

I missed out on an extraordinary opportunity last night. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra was in Tallahassee, and since I didn't know that until the night before....I couldn't exactly make it. I had already made an appointment for a bridesmaid dress fitting. So I talked Beka in to going with me to Gainesville, and since I was bummed about missing the concert I decided we'd dine at our favorite spot in G-ville. Dragonfly is the most incredible sushi place around. The atmosphere is perfect, and with good company (which I had) you are gauranteed to have a fabulous dining experience. We started off with Crab Stuffed Wontons, moved on to Seared Scallops and Flying Dragon Rolls, and finished with another round of Wontons (they are to die for I promise!). It was definitely a good night! Beka-I love you & I had a blast laughing until my cheeks hurt....and don't put ANY of those pictures on myspace :)

Loving the letter "R"

Summer is by far the greatest season when you live in Florida. I love nothing better than to lay in a chaise lounge and soak up the sun. My only problem with summer is that there is not an "R" in May, June, July, or August. If you don't like oysters this won't phase you at all....however if you do then you know it's only safe to eat them in the months that have and "R" in them. For me, SeptembeR couldn't get here soon enough!....Well the "R" months are in full swing and we have begun our oyster cooking. I absolutely love oysters roasted over an open fire! Saturday night we gathered around the firepit with family and friends, and ate oysters until we were stuffed. There is nothing better than great company, a cozy fire, and YUMMY oysters! I plan to take full advantage of the remaining "R" months, and who knows...I might even find a pearl!

What have we become?!

Our internet broke at home and seriously...I am having withdrawls. It's sad. We used to travel all over the country with no internet and very little cell phone service, and there were no complaints....now Brad & I have been without the World Wide Web for 3 DAYS and we're bored out of our minds. We even went to Walmart and we HATE Walmart! Our new modem should be here in a week...until then we're gonna try to share the TV, and i'm gonna catch up on some reading. I suppose i'll be back to blog when I can bum some internet time from someone :)
