These are a few of my favorite things....

It's hard to believe that Christmas has come & gone. We finally got our tree up...(January says I should post that story, but I love my husband so i'm gonna keep our Christmas tree war to myself)...and it's time to take it down :( We were extremely busy just like everyone else i'm sure. We went to see my family, Brad's family, Grandparents, friends, and we ate something everywhere we stopped. It was really kinda gross...It's like we aren't even hungry, but hey there's food so lets eat! We had a blast watching everyone's faces light up & hearing their excitement as gifts were opened. We also were ecstatic to open our gifts as well......I sent Santa my wish list very early as usual, but it only had 1 thing on it this year! (I'm sure "Santa" almost had a heart attack).

I REALLY wanted a Wii Fit. Did I mention I love my Santa VERY much? My Christmas wish was granted! I'm well on my way to being champion of hula-hooping!!

Thanks mom & dad ;)

My other Christmas fave was the "Kitson" jacket that my Bradley gave me....(with the help of his mom who is a professional at shopping!) I L-O-V-E it!!! I think Brad was very pleased with his gifts as well. He got some golf "stuff" from my mom and dad, and new golf bag from his parents. We also got Guitar Hero World Tour!! So if you're ever near the Davis home, and you'd like to stop in and hear our band rock out that would be fine. We're pretty awesome ;) January & Patrick have decided to join I think. Jonas apparently loves it...he slept right through our band practice of beautiful tunes the other day. Overall our day of giving and recieving was perfect!

Here's the BEST part :)

We ALL know the TRUE meaning of Christmas...I absolutely love Max Lucado's book titled "One Incredible Moment". It's so real! Here's a snippet from my favorite chapter...

Untethered by time, God sees us all. From the backwoods of Virginia to the business district of London; from the Vikings to the astronauts, from the cave-dwellers to the kings, from the hut builders to the finger-pointers to the rock stackers, he sees us. Vagabond and ragamuffins all, he saw us before we were born.

And he loves what he sees. Flooded by emotion. Overcome by pride, the starmaker turns to us, one by one, and says, "You are my child. I love you dearly. I'm aware that someday you'll turn from me and walk away. But I want you to know, I've already provided a way back."

And to prove it, he did something extraordinary.

Stepping from the throne, he removed his robe of light and wrapped himself in skin: pigmented, human skin. The light of the universe entered a dark, wet womb. He whom angels worship nestled himself in the placenta of a peasant, was birthed into a cold night, and then slept on cow's hay.

Mary didn't know whether to give him milk or give him priase, but she gave him both since he was, as near as she could figure, hungry and holy.

Joseph didn't know whether to call him Junior or Father. But in the end he called him Jesus, since that's what the angel had said and since he didn't have the faintest idea what to name a God he could cradle in his arms....

Don't you think...their heads tilted and their minds wondered, "What in the world are you doing, God?" Or, better phrased, "God, what are you doing in the world?"

"Can anything make me stop loving you?" God asks. "Watch me speak your language, sleep on your earth, and feel your hurts. Behold the maker of sight and sound as he sneezes, coughs and blows his nose. You wonder if I understand how you feel? Look into the dancing eyes of the kid in Nazareth: that's God walking to school. Ponder the toddler at Mary's table; that's God spilling his milk."

"You wonder how long my love will last? Find your answer on a splintered cross, on a craggy hill. That's me you see up there, your maker, your God, nail-stabbed and bleeding. Covered in spit and sin-soaked.

"That's YOUR sin I'm feeling. That's YOUR death I'm dying. That's YOUR resurrection I'm living."

"That's how much I LOVE YOU."

Wedding Weekend

Prince Charming ;)

Katie, Me, & Jess

The Bride & I

I know it's been FOREVER since i've blogged, but believe it or not, we've had internet issues again! So here I am finally to fill you guys in on what's been going on in our neck of the woods. Our good friends were married on December 13th. Fain & Hannah have been together for 7 years this year...we always joke about how long our guys made us wait for marriage...I think they had a competition going. Brad & I were 5 months shy of 7 years & Cole and Jess (our other good friends) were well into 7 years. We finally made it and we're all happily married now! Fain & Hannah had a beautiful ceremony and the reception was SO much fun! The food was delicious and the decor was very chic black and ivory. Hannah is a little stylista so we weren't surprised a bit. We danced all night (even Brad danced) and trust me....my high-heeled feet paid dearly for their dancing skills ;)
Congrats Fain & Hannah we LOVE you guys sooo much!

Caviar & Edward Cullen anyone???

With the exception of 1 or 2 things...this weekend was wonderful! Friday night we had dinner at the Crabshack with our good friends Hunter & Tamra. The food was great and the company was even better. Saturday morning I was off to "Christmas on the Square". There were twice as many vendors this year, but I still resisted the urge to buy, buy, buy! Our Christmas is already done, and we're letting our bank account recover ;) I saw lots of old friends that I haven't seen in a while, and those that I see daily. Brad decided to skip the chaotic crowd....He had a very important football game to prepare for ;) After I finally convinced him that it was OK if I didn't wear my game day shirt to Christmas on the Square......he settled in his usual spot on the couch, and helped the College Game Day guys analyze every play that would happen that day. We watched the game with some friends, and feasted on a huge pot of Low Country Boil and Redneck Caviar (the best chip dip you've EVER tasted). After cheering our Gators on to victory, we stood around the firepit and discussed our plans for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!! WOOHOO!!! Then off to bed we went with dreams of Edward Cullen dancing in my head ;) This is where it gets really good!! The girls & myself finally had our date with Twilight! I can't say enough good things about it. Beka & I cried while Chelsea & Jennifer laughed at us...It was great...I loved the book, I loved the movie, and I am so diggin Edward! We finished our night with Texas Roadhouse, Target, and Books-a-Million. It couldn't have been better!....Jonas tagged along with January, of course, and i'm sure he felt the same way about our girls night ;) Just kidding Patrick...you can claim those nights with him soon.....

Thanksgiving Weekend

I was trying not to post until January emailed me our Thanksgiving pictures, but I think little Jonas is preventing that from happening. I'll just have to post our pictures later. Thanksgiving was perfect! It was our first Thanksgiving being married, and I had to send Brad to the grocery store first thing that morning because I forgot something. Hopefully that's not gonna become a tradition! We had tons of delicious food, and spent time with our families. Brad stayed busy the rest of the weekend watching football (Go Gators!!)! I have been in the world of Edward and Bella...all else was forgotten. I suppose i'm officially a "Twilight" nerd. I am now waiting on the rest of the girls to read it so we can go see the movie!!.....however I should warn them that if they don't HURRY i'm going alone! Brad was finally able to talk me into putting the book down a time or two so we could go hang out with our friends. We all sat around a fire, laughed at stories, and talked about the good times we've had this year. Thank God for good friends :) ......So overall our long weekend was busy, but definitely the best Thanksgiving we've had so far as a married couple ;) I'm sure next year will be even better!
